A question about a soldier and a murdered man

Question 1
A soldier from Jerusalem noticed that during the morning rehearsals, it was during prayer time.
So the religious and those who decided to go to the synagogue to pray at the base, even if they are not exactly religious, are actually exempt from the purification ‘by virtue’ of praying.
This seemed to him a blasphemy against God, and accordingly he stopped coming to prayer in the minyan, got up earlier, prayed alone, and participated in cleaning the bathrooms and rooms with the seculars.

  • Is it appropriate to pray individually for the purpose of purification?

Question 2
The murder in the US of a very famous man who had an influence on millions of people. They say he also had an influence on the Trump administration and on the one hand spread a lot of lies and anti-Semitism, and on the other hand, he defended Israel and even visited the country, etc.
Maybe he’s volatile, maybe he’s just confused.

  • Will he be remembered for good because he was a defender of the State of Israel or for bad because he was an anti-Semite and a huge liar?

1. I think it is not appropriate to impose all the cleaning duties on the secular, except with their consent. Praying in a minyan is not a halachic obligation, and certainly for the sake of carrying its burden and sanctifying God, there is permission to dispense with it. 2. I’ve been asked this too many times. There is no consensus on the facts here (whether he was really an anti-Semite and a huge liar or not). But assuming he has duplicity, one can certainly appreciate him for what is worthy of appreciation and condemn what is worthy of condemnation. There is no reason to summarize and weigh things up to create a bottom line. That is the role of God Almighty.
