Abilities of rabbis

שו”תAbilities of rabbis

What is the Rabbi’s opinion regarding rabbis who can be absolutely said to possess supernatural abilities? And it is all true. They know things in a way that can shock minds, the Holy Spirit rests upon them.
What is the rabbi’s attitude towards the matter? Does he agree with the claims and the facts?
And how does this fit with your rational doctrine?

The question is not what I think about these phenomena, but whether such phenomena exist. If you assume that it is absolutely clear that they have powers, then it is a fact. What should my opinion be about facts? I have written before that I do not rule out this possibility, but am only skeptical about it. In most cases, it is nonsense, a deception by the public, and perhaps stupidity on the part of the “righteous” himself. But in principle, it is possible that there are people with extraordinary powers. Obviously, I cannot rule it out categorically.

We have the late Lubavitcher Rebbe, who was rumored to be the Messiah. Isaiah Leibowitz said that he was either a fraud or a madman, and after he passed away, it can be assumed that he probably had no extraordinary powers.
