Achilles and the tortoise
Hello Rabbi,
The Achilles and the Tortoise paradox assumes that the world is continuous [infinite], although it is clear to us today that the world is atomistic [the smallest part is the quark]. So, it is clear that the paradox is not valid today, right?
thanks.
But space is continuous. Anyway, this paradox does not exist (because it is a finite sum of an infinite series) so there is no need to look for excuses.
As a madman, the rabbi wanted to argue that there is an idea of movement. Did he back down?
An infinite series is just a limit, it's not really like that.
I didn't understand. I forgot that there is movement in the world? Where? Are you talking about what I wrote here?
An infinite series is an infinite series. If infinity does not exist, then the paradox does not exist either. After all, the description of the race in the formulation of the paradox describes only the first second and something of the race (but divides this section into an infinite number of parts). What your attitude towards this infinity is is irrelevant.
I meant what you wrote at the time, regarding perfection and further training, that there is a difference between many local changes and the concept of movement in general.
I don't understand. If you are referring to something, bring it up and formulate your question well.
