Aliens as humans

שו”תCategory: philosophyAliens as humans

A. Do you think there is a scientific basis or rational argument (i.e., that it is likely that there are other living beings in the entire vast universe) for the existence of aliens (living beings with or without intelligence)?
on. If aliens (with intelligence and feelings) are indeed discovered, should they be treated as humans or as animals (cruelty to animals is also prohibited, but they will not have the same rights as those granted to non-humans in a democracy, such as the right to privacy, the right to freedom of occupation, etc.)?
Sorry if the discussion is annoying.

The discussion isn’t annoying, but it seems a bit disconnected. There’s a possibility that there’s more life, and there’s also a possibility that there isn’t. I don’t know how to decide this without empirical findings.
When we meet these creatures, we can think about what their fate is. Discussion without defining what it is and without experiencing it seems to me irrelevant and impossible.

If they don't look like humans but are at the level of human thinking, should they be treated as humans or not?
Sorry for the hypothetical question, but it is also possible to answer theoretically in relation to the moral question: Do we give humans prizes because they have intelligence or because they have feelings (note: animals also have certain feelings and therefore we don't give them prizes) or because they are a person like me, so I give them prizes because I also want prizes and understand that if I deserve it, he deserves it too.
The question with the aliens only highlights the moral debate

And I answer again that until we meet them we will not be able to know and decide.
It is difficult to determine what gives people rights and distinguish it from other qualities. It is the result of direct encounter and recognition.
