Amulets
Hello Rabbi,
What does the rabbi think about amulets of all kinds? Are there any real ones? It sounds like far-fetched matters, but they appear in the Gemara and Poskim, and even the great men of Israel spoke about amulets of all kinds. What’s more, in every Sephardic synagogue there appears a Psalm of Psalms in the shape of a menorah with all kinds of names and letter combinations. I would love to know what the rabbi thinks about the subject!
Of course I don’t have any information, but in my opinion and impression there is no substance in them, and I wonder why there is no real prohibition in this.
If the rabbi opens a business selling amulets,
I will be the first to buy from him,
as much as he pleases.
This is “before blind”… Maybe I'll make a virtual amulet (which is useful to you when placed with me) in a change.
In the Torah itself, an amulet is mentioned (in Jerusalem) once - who knows where?
And in Egypt there was also an amulet - who knows where?
From what we know of the two above cases, we can learn (and don't say you have no information about amulets) that the amulet is forbidden in prohibition and especially that there are prohibitions that prevent us from "guessing" and that these are also types of "amulets" that remove our trust in the Creator and the sky from our trust in the clouds and sorcerers and amulets or in the "Star of David" which is an amulet even though we all know that the true Star of David is the Lord, as it is written in the Book of Praises to the Lord: "The Lord is my shield, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head."
And about the entire people of Israel it is written: “Israel trusts in Him, He is their help and protector.”
