Ancient regulations

Hello Rabbi Mikhi, were the regulations that appear in the Sages and are attributed to the ancestors of Moses and King David actually amended by them from a realistic historical perspective, or is this a normative determination by the Sages in order to strengthen the regulation among the people? Does the Rabbi know of any sources that deal with this? Thanks in advance.
