What do you think about all the jokers in the debates that they are obligated to listen to the elders and therefore do not enlist, and all sorts of other stupid regulations from the law, “And you did as the Lord commanded you.” Is this really a law, a troll, a custom, or a particular interpretation?

From a legal perspective, there is no obligation to obey any sages in our day. This was said about the Sanhedrin. But it certainly makes sense to listen to scholars who understand legal doctrine in order to do the right thing. Except that the instruction not to enlist is not legal. But beyond all that, the essential discussion is not about the obligation to obey the elders of the generation, but about the reason the elders of the generation themselves teach not to enlist. So what’s the point of dealing with the obligation to obey?

There is such a concept as "Torah wisdom," meaning true Jewish sages who are the greatest sages who understand the will of the Creator in a matter for which there is no clear ruling (like all the great ones who made boundaries and reservations, and there is an obligation to obey them legally, and made boundaries for the time being, etc.)
