Another nasty idea from my workshop.
Hey Miki
Last night, after long “birth pangs,” I sent Gershon HaCohen a letter titled “The Settlement in Retrospect.”
In it I argued that since the principles of Zionism were never defined, the Messianic stream of religious Zionism took advantage of the conquest/liberation of Yesha and began a settlement boom in Yesha in the same way that Zionism had taken to create a territorial base that would provide existential security for the Jews. But this time its goal was the imminent redemption.
In my opinion, what has been done cannot be undone – but since Gush Emunim has greatly complicated the situation, I propose to make the settler leadership partners in seeking practical solutions to increase the security of the State of Israel for future generations.
From the same perspective that I have already presented to you in my previous letters
B] And another matter:
Some of my friends from the “Transparent Domes”, led by Eran Reuveni from Herzliya, identify with my ideas on the matter.
“Zionism is the means by which we, the Jews of Israel, can practically demonstrate our commitment to being a special people.”
After I sent Eran my vision, he discussed it with other people. And a group was formed whose goal was to instill these ideas in the youth movement members. Eran sat down and worked on a detailed formulation, while also going into practical details, he did a real job.
The group intends to meet within the next month in Nahalal, where one of the members lives.
I would love to know what you think about the first topic.
All the best and have a pleasant evening.

From Wikipedia: On February 9, 1974 (15th of Shvat, 1974). The founding document of “Gush Emunim, a movement for the renewal of Zionist fulfillment” – states that: “Gush Emunim was established with the goal of casting a new-old message in existing tools and patterns, in order to once again and anew inspire a full Zionist fulfillment in deed and spirit… while recognizing that the source of the vision is in the heritage of Israel and the roots of Judaism, and its purpose is – complete redemption for the people of Israel and the entire world”.
I recall my sins today:
When I was still single, before the Six-Day War, I bought a set of topographic maps of the West Bank, and sometimes I would spread them out on the floor, and ”travel” There. I longed for there, like many of the members and members of the pioneering youth movements.
Just like the pioneers of Zionism, they too aspired to bring redemption to the people of Israel and to the world (and not just security).
