Is repentance specifically for someone who committed a transgression out of the knowledge that it was forbidden? For example, if someone came out with a question, and was convinced that there is no God, etc., and later became convinced that there is. Does he need to repent for his sins?

If his judgment was not reckless and it was the best truth in his opinion, he has nothing to answer for.

Why must a baby who was taken captive among the Gentiles offer a sin offering?

מיכי Staff replied 10 months ago

Why not? Apparently he is mistaken, although with arguments to mitigate the guilt (there is a dispute among Amoraim whether he is a forcible person, but according to the law they ruled that he is mistaken). The number of sins he commits is smaller (one for each type of offense), and this is because the number of his disappearances is smaller.
