Peace and blessings, Your Honor, the Rabbi
Is there any interest (or is it permissible) for a single man to fly to Uman for Rosh Hashanah or in general throughout the year?
The great rabbis of Breslov say-
1. In the evening prayer of the night of the Lord, in his first blessing, Rabbi Nachman passes judgment on everyone who is in the Uman.
2. That Rosh Hashanah with Rabbi Nachman surpasses everything, there is nothing greater than being with him on Rosh Hashanah, and also that they can then [on Rosh Hashanah] receive corrections that they could not have received in any way throughout the year. It is said that Rabbi Nachman promised the Hasidim that whoever would be with him on Rosh Hashanah would immediately be entitled to be signed in the Book of Life.
3. That the greatest correction for a person’s soul is to be with Rabbi Nachman on Rosh Hashanah, and there is nothing greater than that.
Please, I need the Rabbi’s opinion.

I didn’t understand the connection between the two parts of your question. Why would it be forbidden? What does it have to do with singleness? And what does this have to do with the three confusions you brought from the “great rabbis of Breslov”?

So there is no point in going to Uman? And what they say is that Rabbi Nachman corrects souls, isn't that true?

מיכי Staff replied 1 year ago

I thought it was a troll.
This is clearly just nonsense that borders on pagan idolatry. People travel because they are looking for spiritual experiences, which is legitimate in itself, as long as you don't confuse your mind with theories like these.

Thank you very much, your opinion is very important to me. I listen to the rabbi a lot. Thank you very much.

Hey hey, slow down your pen when you enter to answer with such things, concerning the corrections of the righteous of the generations.

The questioner brought in a number of quotations, some of them ‘sayings of the wing’,
some of them – originating from the writings themselves (see Chai Mohar”n 1983-1986, and more)
So if you dismiss with a stroke of the pen these explicit things, your opinion is that Rabbi Nachman is not a righteous man and his opinion should not be taken into account. You are welcome to deal with this fact in the light of the attitude towards the great men of Israel of all generations.

In the additional quotations, does the questioner's attitude towards the ’great rabbis of Breslov’ think differently from them? – You are welcome to argue with them.
In any case, what you call ’simple nonsense that borders on pagan idolatry’ (according to you) you can attribute, according to the richness of your mind and the intelligence on which you rely – to many accepted Jewish rituals.
It's a shame that you are so careless about matters concerning faith, the faith of the righteous, and prostrating yourself at their graves.

Attached is a link to Rabbi Erez Doron's response to one of the rabbis who entered into this controversy (who, it should be noted, wrote with reverence and humility compared to the writer here)

(Although there is much to expand on Rabbi Doron's words with evidence and facts from the great men of Israel, for the seeker of truth, this is enough).

With the permission of the Rabbi, I would like to respond.

The question cites 3 statements:

1. In the evening prayer of the night of the Lord's Supper (by saying the first "Blessing"), Rabbi Nachman passes judgment on everyone who is with him.
2. That our Rabbi's Rosh Hashanah surpasses everything, and there is nothing greater than that, and more.
3. That the greatest correction for a person is to be with our Rabbi on Rosh Hashanah.

The Rabbi's response was that these are "brain fog" and "theories."
I do not know the Rabbi, and I assume (based on the number of followers, etc.) that his honor is wise, and he will not give such unfounded answers. Therefore, I allow myself to assume that His Eminence has not studied the books of Rabbi Nachman and his disciples, and indeed these words of Breslev sound very miraculous and very unacceptable.
I also allow myself to assume that His Eminence does not think, God willing, to disagree with one of the greatest righteous, the grandson of the Baal Shem Tov and a great righteous man in his own right, who to this very day leads thousands upon thousands of the children of Israel to the path of Torah, prayer and the worship of God.

Based on these assumptions and on one basic assumption that His Eminence seeks to teach the truth and honesty to the audience of listeners, I quote here for him the following directly from the books of Breslev, with sources. What has no source, I will be frank and say of course.

1. The statement in ”Blessed” On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, our Rabbi passes judgment on everyone, rooted in one statement our Rabbi himself said:
“What other righteous people do who work from the beginning of the year until Hosanna-Rava? I work on the first night of Rosh Hashanah. “And the righteous who act from the beginning of the year in the fourth Hosanna, do the same, I will act from the beginning of the year” (Shiach Seraphi Kodesh in A.H.).
From this, our Rabbeinu’s disciples deduced this matter – that everyone transgresses the law in the first ” blessing”.
Although I have not seen this written anywhere – but do not rely on me, I am not some extreme ” scholar or something, and ”not seeing it is not evidence” because it is possible that it is written in other places.
What is more, the saying took root among the Breslov Hasidim, and even great and good rabbis say it, so either there is another source for this, or the source is what I have brought, either way, there is no God forbid here “confusion of mind” as his honor wrote, and let them rest in Israel, if they are not prophets, they are the sons of prophets.

2. Our Rabbi's Rosh Hashanah is above all:

He said: The Rosh Hashanah for me is above all.

And it was a wonder to me later that my relatives believed in me and why did not all the people who were relatives to me warn that they would all be at the beginning of the year, no one would be missing. For all my concern is only at the beginning of the year. And he warned to make a proclamation that everyone who was a relative of his and who was a relative to him would be at the beginning of the year, no one would be missing.

And whoever is worthy to be at the head of the year, it is seen that he will rejoice greatly. “Eat the fat and drink the sweet, for the joy of the’ is your strength” and this is said at the head of the year.

(Hayei Mohar”n, Gudel Yakrat Rosh Hashanah Shalev, 1933)

The story of his great disciple Rabbi Natan:
On the evening of the last New Year in Ummeen, we stood before him at a time when we had given him our kuitlach and some of the money for redemption. Then he asked about a man from Nimreb who had not come on New Year’s Eve. And Rabbi Naphtali began to beg and did not accept the words, and was very strict about them.

‏And later, another person spoke in the same way, who did not come at the beginning of the year due to the heat of many obstacles, and from this heat, his memory traveled to our Rabbi for a blessing before the beginning of the year and he recounted to him the obstacles. And our great rabbi commanded him to recite a blessing upon himself to return to his house, and that his shadow should not be on the beginning of the year. And this man was one of the great thinkers, and it was very difficult for him that he should not be worthy to be a sleeper with us on the beginning of the year. And his remembrance of blessing began to be insistent before him, that he would not return to his house alone, but his shadow would remain at the head of the year.

And he did not want to forget his remembrance of blessing in his words and drive him out of his house. And then our master said to him, his remembrance of blessing. I cannot imagine for myself this sorrow, what a shame it would be that I would not have my shadow at the head of the year. And the man said to him, "If so, I will stay here," and he did not agree and returned to his house.

Later, on the evening of the New Year, he spoke to us about this, and said that he had great mercy. For he really wanted to be here on the New Year's Eve, but he was prevented from the heat of the night. Then he remembered his blessing and said in a strong voice from the depths of his heart, "And what have I told you? There is nothing greater than this. We are the words of his shadow at the beginning of the year." And he said with a trembling voice, "How can I tell you, O you who are the greatest of all, and who are the greatest of all? How can I tell you, O you who are the greatest of all, and who are the greatest of all, and who are the greatest of all?" [What I tell you is that there is no greater thing than this, and if other righteous people do not say so, then it is still difficult] (as if to say, is it not without this that the greatest of all is difficult for him? And it will be even more difficult for this one, since he has made it so strict to be in his presence at the beginning of the year.

And from the whole of his holy words that he spoke to us, let us consider how many words. Let us consider again the greatness of the love to be in his presence at the beginning of the year. For even though we know this from a grave, even though From the multitude of His holy words, then, we have come to understand, and from His terrible movements, the power of love is ever increasing, which is impossible for this well to write.
(Life of Moharen, 2nd ed.)

3. The matter of the great correction made on Rosh Hashanah:
Regarding the matter of the beginning of the year, which He required to be in His presence at the beginning of the year, He said that then people would be able to accept corrections, what is the matter? The year was not possible for them to be corrected at all, yet at the beginning of the year they would be able to receive correction. Even though throughout the year even if they remembered Him in Himself as a blessing, He would not be able to correct them, but at the beginning of the year they would also be able to receive correction. For He said that He would do it at the beginning of the year. Matters and Corrections What is there in the New Year that even He cannot do?

On the evening of Rosh Hashanah, Rabbi Aharon of Breslov, who was not present at Rosh Hashanah, spoke to us in a solemn manner, and said to us, "What did I tell you? There is nothing greater than that we should be present at Rosh Hashanah." Even though the righteous remain, they do not say so, for I am their There is no great love like that, to be a shadow at the beginning of the year, and to be even more difficult than a sister.

[As if to say, without this, a great man is always difficult, and this one will be even more difficult for him, and what is more he warns that being his shadow at the beginning of the year is exactly what is left of the path of the great].
(Ibid.).

In conclusion, I wanted to add and say something, as far as I am concerned, this can be taken as constructive criticism, and if I made a mistake with my tongue – and He is merciful and will atone.
The Holy One, blessed be He, had mercy on the people of Israel and gave us rabbis and teachers of instruction and righteous men to teach us the path we should follow and the deed we should do.
There is a Rabbi in my neighborhood, Tzvi, with whom I often consult on matters of halakhah. One Shabbat, there was a medical issue with my pregnancy that required asking a rabbi, I went to him, and he told me “I am less knowledgeable about this, go to Rabbi So-and-so”.
Mor Avi Shechia also told me things like this several times.
That is, sometimes a question comes to the rabbi, and the rabbi knows in his heart that he is not 100 percent knowledgeable about it, and therefore he tells the questioner – Go to Rabbi So-and-so, he knows this issue better than I do.
Of course, with the great men of the world, it was not like this, and one could ask them about all the Torah and they would answer on a website, but Most rabbis and teachers today are not like that, and each one has his own “interest” in which he specializes.
Therefore, with apologies, if the questioner comes to the rabbi and asks him a question from the world of Hasidism, and in particular from the world of Breslov Hasidism, and the rabbi in question has not studied this specific Hasidism, he cannot say “These are mental confusions” (PBUH), but rather say “Go to a certain rabbi and he will answer your question in detail”.
And there is no need to fear that the questioner will leave the rabbi, but on the contrary, this will show humility and faith on the part of the rabbi in question, and will strengthen the questioner’s faith – that in all the other questions to which the rabbi did answer him – they were from a deep understanding.

And I will conclude with a layman’s blessing – May the Rabbi be blessed with many more years to learn and teach, to preserve, to do, and to maintain, from the health of body and mind, happiness, wealth, and enlightenment from above until the coming of the righteous Redeemer.

That the ”rabbi” will repent completely..as the Baal Shem Tov said, I saw that in the days of the Messiah there would be ”rabbis” as many as the stars in the sky who would delay the redemption

מיכי Staff replied 8 hours ago

Amen. Working on it. I also think there are many rabbis who delay the redemption, but I'm not sure my list is like yours.
