Borrowing a digital book

שו”תCategory: HalachaBorrowing a digital book

Is there a law regarding the question in a digital book?
By borrowing I mean making a copy of the book file and sending it to my friend. I won’t use my copy while my friend uses his copy.

Is this a book you borrowed or bought? If you bought it, then I don’t see a problem with it. It’s just a technical shortcut. If you borrowed it, it depends on what the usage contract with your lender says.

I bought it, but before downloading I had to confirm that I would use it for personal use only. So I guess that's some kind of condition of sale.
