Changes in Halacha

שו”תCategory: HalachaChanges in Halacha

Rabbi Michi Shalom!
Do you think it would be correct to say that the object of Halacha should be preserved, but the way it is expressed in the daily life of modern man needs to be changed, or is this just unnecessary chatter?

In my opinion, Rose is trying to ask whether your view is that the halakha should be adapted to our time by changing the practices in a way that preserves the idea or core (the "object" as the questioner puts it 🤔) of the mitzvah. That is, one should ignore the specific reservations, strictures, and practices that were adapted to specific generations, and preserve only what the poet at Sinai intended if it were revealed in 2024.
Perhaps like in the well-known parable about swimsuits in winter, midrashic conservatism.

PS. I do not agree with the question, just translating.
In my opinion, sometimes it is necessary and possible, and sometimes it is necessary but too anarchistic.

Too general a question. I have written quite a bit about these issues and explained what and how can and should be done.
