Cheerful in the morning and serious and heavy in the afternoon

שו”תCategory: HalachaCheerful in the morning and serious and heavy in the afternoon

This may sound like a joke, lol.
But this is a real problem.
With my father, I’m cheerful and can’t manage to be moody, but when my father arrives, I perceive seriousness and toughness.
You’ve tried to change it several times and it doesn’t work.
The rabbi has advice for the problem.
I’m serious.

You really are a strange Litvak. If this is your mood – then to your health. There is no halachic obligation to be cheerful in Adar or sad in Av. By the way, maybe if you don’t think it is an obligation and that you have a problem, the problem will go away. Like the story about the kotzker who came before a man and complained that he was running away from honor and the man wasn’t chasing him. The kotzker said to him: It’s because when you run away, you look back (to make sure he’s coming).
