church

asked 2 years ago

From what I know, there is a prohibition in church because it is a pleasure from the tzaddik, fishing if there are candles or pictures or music there, all of these are pleasures from idolatry. But is there a prohibition in actually staying in church without pleasure?

In the Shulchan Shulchan Yod, Si’ Kanz 63 categorically prohibits it. See also Si’ Kanz 61. Although I personally do not understand what prohibition there is in this other than pleasure. In my opinion, staying for the purpose of study is permitted.

To the questioner, regarding the prohibition and the name of God, you shall not mention others, will not be heard from you, is there no obligation to be strict?

This is only said about swearing in the name of other gods.

Both an oath and a prohibition to mention its name according to the Gemara in Sanhedrin 3: Let no man say to his fellow, "I keep aside the worship of such and such idols."
I don't care to discuss Christianity, but there is a point to the flaw in mentioning the name of the God himself as a nickname.
