Clarification in the article “Is Halacha ‘Hebrew Law’? On Religion, Morals, and Early Law – 2005”
In the aforementioned article by the rabbi, in the chapter “The Essence of Halacha as ‘Hebrew Law'” – “2- The Goals of Halacha” it is written regarding the stipulation on property laws: “However, this argument is unfounded. The freedom to stipulate on what is written in the Torah does not imply the assumption that property laws are nothing more than ordered and decent forms of financial relations between individuals in society. The Torah also has a ‘religious’ interest in these forms of engagement, and therefore they constitute part of Halacha. This issue deserves a separate investigation, and it will be clarified elsewhere.” Where is the “other place” mentioned? I would be happy to refer to it. thanks.
