Hello Rabbi
Does cognac from abroad need kosher?
And what about Passover, does it contain leaven?

I have no idea. I don’t know what cognac is and I don’t understand anything about spirits.

Cognac is a distilled wine (brandy, from the land of Cognac in France), and therefore it is considered a fortified wine.
If it has the kosher status of a fortified wine, it is not completely leavened. And in any case, it is customary to sell what is not leavened, as long as it does not have special kosher status for Passover.
