Commandments by virtue of explanation
Why are there commandments that can also be understood by reason? Thou shalt not murder, the obligation to keep an oath, etc.
For even if they were not a commandment upon us, we would be obligated to keep them. What is the point of the commandment?
The commandment adds to these commandments another religious dimension beyond the moral one. Incidentally, their boundaries are also different from the boundaries of moral prohibition. For example, in murder, you can do it in ways that you would not be obligated to do on the religious level, but it is no less evil on the moral level. See column 15.
