Committed to reality
Hello Rabbi,
Rambam, Laws of the Foundations of the Torah, Chapter 1
And if it is conceivable that it does not exist, nothing else can exist.
Do you agree with the statement that God is responsible for reality and without Him reality would not exist? And if so, what is the explanation for this?
What is the problem with claiming that God created the world (this is obligatory), and that it has ceased/will cease to exist?
As for it being bound by reality, it seems to me that without this its existence does not constitute an explanation for reality. Who created it? As for it being a condition for the existence of reality – I don’t know. There is a certain logic to it, but I don’t know how to present a clear argument.
There was a video that Rabbi Michi uploaded that I think explains the idea from the Theology Channel. From Copenhagen..
It is not a matter of interpretation, it is a matter of definition.
God is defined as that thing without which there is no reality.
For us the question is what is that reality that we say is reality. No one knows that reality.
