Compensation for infection
Hello Rabbi,
Is a person, in principle, obligated to compensate someone they infected with a disease? Or is this considered a sin?
Best regards,

A grandfather is also liable according to the laws of heaven. But here I am not sure that this even falls under the law of heaven. There is no action you did here, but damage that happened anyway. We can call this “from heaven to heaven” (as in a persecuting fetus). Of course, if you knew that you were sick and did not fulfill the duty of care, there is a place to hold you liable. It is true that a person who causes harm is liable for rape, but it seems to me from the above explanation that here there is no person who causes harm at all unless there is guilt in him.
