Consciousness for a model of a human brain

There is a project called the Blue Brain that basically wants to model the brain into a computer. I don’t know where the project is at the moment, but I assume that it will happen at some point. According to your dualistic method, a computer certainly won’t have consciousness. But do you think that according to the materialistic method, this software might not have consciousness? It just seems strange to me that no matter how sophisticated the software is, it would have consciousness.

Strange question. That’s exactly why I’m a dualist.
