I heard a talk ahead of the High Holy Days from a Talmid Tocham seminary who spoke about the importance of unity and eliminating the ego.
I asked His Honor after the conversation what he meant by unity. He told me simply that the entire people of Israel should unite.
Since the preacher was Haredi (Ashkenazi), I dared to ask if they would offer Rabbi Illuyi from the Porat Yosef Yeshiva as a groom.
And the only motive that prevents him from taking it is the groom’s origin. Is this unity that the rabbi is talking about?
I asked if my comment to the preacher was correct..?

A comment in its place. He didn’t answer? By the way, I don’t think that elevation is necessarily the criterion for a good match.

He claims that this is unrelated to the fact that there are different customs and laws for each community. He presented evidence that even among Hasidim, they zealously observe the grammar and customs that have been accepted from generation to generation until the Baal Shem, and this does not harm unity.
