Difference between a complex process and a complex thing

I read in the book God Plays Dice. A very beautiful book.
That you divide between a complex process and a complex object.
While it is not clear that a complex process can be claimed to be random, it is possible to claim that it is more complex.
But I didn’t understand why a process that goes from simple to complex is different from a complex entity?
It is impossible to imagine that this process would be random?
