Difference between men and women – ideal?
Happy holidays, Rabbi Michi,
Before the holiday, I finished your YouTube series on faith.
A beautiful and eye-opening series. Thank you so much for everything!
I have just started the series on Platonism. I listened to the first lesson, and I wanted to ask, since there is no reference to this matter in the rest of the lessons:
You are talking, according to Plato’s method, about the clear taxonomy that everyone sees when looking at the world, so that, for example, it is clear to everyone that there is a fundamental difference between horses and donkeys, and there is no fundamental difference between donkeys and horses of the same height and donkeys and horses of different heights. Which proves the idea, etc.
These things immediately ‘sprung’ to my mind the claims of (parts of) the progressive movement, that the division between men and women is imaginary, and that the world can be divided equally into those with fair hair and those with dark hair, and so on.
In fact, is there a disagreement here between the method of Plato (the “conservatives”) and the method of Aristotle (the progressives)?
