Douglas and Natasha’s confrontation with Mehdi and Gideon over anti-Zionism
Hello Rabbi,
Did you watch this debate?
I think it has a lot of flavor.
And one amazing point.
They argued about many things there. But anyone who listened as carefully as I did noticed that the essence of the discussion, the question itself, was not in dispute at all.
The question was philosophical: Is anti-Zionism necessarily an anti-Semitic position?
Everyone agreed there:
A. That mere opposition to the right of Jews to self-determination is anti-Semitism.
on. Everyone agreed that there are many anti-Semites who use anti-Zionism. And that they have double standards towards Jews.
There were a lot of important discussions and debates.
But on the philosophically descriptive question for which they gathered:
Is opposition to the Zionist position because it comes at the expense of another people anti-Semitism?
Everyone agreed. Everyone said it differently.
What do you think?
