Electricity in the UK

שו”תCategory: HalachaElectricity in the UK

Hello Rabbi
There was a heated debate, mainly between the Moroccans who allowed electricity in the Yot and their reason. It seems to me that even if we say that electricity is likened to fire, then it is like fighting fire with fire because electricity already exists – for example in the home’s electrical network – and not just them, as I think Rabbi Frank also allowed and other Ashkenazi rabbis.
But on the other hand, Rabbi Ovadia’s son, Rabbi Yitzhak, claims that they did not understand electricity. Is that true?
What do you think is the halakha on this subject? It is permissible or forbidden?
thanks

Indeed. I wrote my opinion in column 397 that the Torah prohibits constructive judgment.
