Equal distribution of child support payments
In reference to the fact that Rabbi Ariel Edri attacked Judge Solberg (link below) and said that the Torah is not equal and therefore even a man who earns less than his wife must pay her alimony.
I would love to hear the Rabbi’s opinion on the matter.

I of course do not agree at all. First, this is not the Torah but the halacha. Second, the institution that the halacha is not egalitarian but it is possible and appropriate to change it in the direction of egalitarianism as much as possible. Certainly in matters of wealth there is no problem in doing so, and in particular in the distribution of the economic burden, which is generally a matter of accepted norms. In fact, the halacha does not need to be changed, the legislator and custom have already done so.
But beyond the debate over the content, the pretense that he speaks in the name of the Torah and that anyone who says otherwise is not faithful to the law is just another example of conservative stupidity and lack of understanding.
