Erubin

asked 5 years ago

Is eruvin an attempt to bypass the original Torah law? Is it better not to leave the house with belongings? After all, today we have almost abolished the entire prohibition of taking things from one place to another.

Transfer from one authority to another is also not written in the Torah. This is the interpretation of the Sages, and they also corrected (or interpreted) the eruv. In any case, eruv (except for eruvi tekhumin perhaps, according to the Torah’s tekhumin) does not permit Torah prohibitions, and therefore the question is irrelevant.
