Escape from myself

שו”תCategory: generalEscape from myself
asked 6 months ago

I wanted to ask about self-knowledge and fulfillment,
As one who has a relative awareness of the soul and its needs,
How do I know that my actions are not an escape from myself, for example if I invest in another, and sometimes I can find myself changing plans completely for a friend, or sacrificing significant things, is this perceived as an escape, as a lack of experience of the inner self,
[When I ask myself why I really behave this way, the answer is usually that I enjoy it so much that my friend enjoys it. It should be noted that I am not in a social situation that requires me to do the above things. I do it purely out of a desire.]
Thank you very much.

I’m not the one to ask such questions. In general, I see no point in engaging in this. If you’re doing the right thing, there’s no point in digging into ulterior motives.
