Evasion of modernity
In Haredi society, there is a concept of new things forbidden by the Torah, meaning that everything in the modern world is forbidden and must be kept away from like fire. In fact, they always say that they are protecting the Jewish people physically and spiritually. The question is whether everything is truly forbidden. How do they manage to convince themselves that this is so if they have never broadened their horizons? And how does Harediism really succeed if all their thinking is negative against modernity and not positive and is only based on evasion (Noah’s Ark), while running a company is the opposite of evasion?
I didn’t understand the question. How does each cult manage to convince its members? The methods of persuasion don’t always work in rational ways. How do they manage to survive, because they are surrounded by dumb suckers who hold them back.
"New is forbidden by the Torah," is not a blanket prohibition; I know Haredim with a new car.
Had Gadya,
This is according to the light, a new shilling from abroad is permitted
