evolution
Hello Rabbi
I’m currently reading a book by Yakir Shoshani called “Regarding God.” He makes a claim regarding evolution that “characterizing an entity by attributes implicitly presupposes logic, and optimal matching of one entity to another presupposes mathematics.”
a) I would be happy if you could help me understand the text.
b) Do you think there is a real argument here?
I’m also adding the full paragraph…
Thank you very much.
Good week
I don’t understand either. There really are no such “laws of suitability.” Indeed, the fundamental principle is tautological: the fittest survive. It is true that survival is a function of the laws of nature, after all, they are the ones that determine what will happen in any situation. Without them, there is no meaning to the question of who is “suitable” (suitable for what?). Therefore, I really find no meaning in these sentences.
Sorry, but I don't quite understand. Is his claim correct? If so, what is correct about it?
His claim is unjust and there is nothing true in it. He says that it is in accordance with the laws of nature, but it is clear that it is in accordance with the laws of nature. But what, in accordance with a vacuum? In short, I have no interest in explaining wrong things.
