Examining allegations concerning Shin Bet investigations
Happy to be happy.
As is known, news has recently spread that Shin Bet investigations are underway against all sorts of individuals. There are claims here and there about the fairness of the investigations, at least according to the data exposed to the public.
My question is, how can one decide which side is “right” (maybe there is no such thing?)?
The claims sound logical on both sides, but maybe you have some rule of thumb that usually helps decide the validity of the claims? Maybe the facts presented are not true => Is the conclusion invalid?
Here is the story as described by a respected journalist.
User X (former Twitter user) named ‘Eran Cherpak’ wrote:
“It’s very simple. A Shin Bet person is not allowed to release classified material from within the organization. Even if he really thinks it fits the right-wing whining narrative about Deep State.”
Journalists, by the way, are not allowed to possess this information. For details: Uri Blau and Baruch Kara.”
And in a subsequent tweet, he wrote: “If you called Anat Kam a traitor and supported the investigation and conviction of Uri Blau, you will spare us the crocodile tears and eye rolling over the end of democracy.”
“It’s exactly the same thing.”
His claims seem logical, but is there any substance to them? Is it really “the same thing”?
How to examine these issues?
Thank you in advance.

Just for example, Anat Kam and Uri Blau published materials and whoever passed them the leak to the press. It's not like leaking to the prime minister, even if it's legally prohibited. But of course, among our righteous cousins, the law is sacred and binding, as long as it applies to the other side.
Shouldn't the obvious systematicity of selective enforcement by the "rule of law," which has almost become its logo, and whose chance of being accidental is like the chance of a clock appearing by chance in the desert, teach us who is on the good side and who is on the bad side?
