existence

asked 7 years ago

Hello, Your Honor!
My name is Roy… a man who believes in God but doesn’t believe in the existence of religions… I’m secular and I’m really happy with that.
I don’t mean to disparage religions… on the contrary… I think cultures are a really interesting thing.
I claim… that what all of us… not just the Jews… but what everyone in the world is looking for… is pure and true happiness… that everyone… will open their eyes in the morning… in a good and true way… In fact, I think this is also what all religions are looking to teach us… but none of them… have really reached a point… where everyone wakes up happy in the morning… for thousands of years… since the first religion in the world was established.
Look… I have no doubt that God is real… I have no doubt, but on the other hand… religions are illogical in terms of their individuality towards a population… I am sure that in their time… they were created for a good purpose… in order to implement something… that should be interpreted as happiness… and indeed… in the Jewish religion… there is a considerable part… in the happiness of the world… (I grew up in a religious home).
I am not looking… at any point in the interesting discussion I am going to have with you… for any desire to repent… but only for a real answer to an honest question… which for some reason has been giving me a lot of strength and a different perspective on the world lately… and by the way… my little brother referred me to you… knowing that I had the desire to ask the right questions… but he couldn’t answer them all for me.
Somehow… the meaning of the creation of this world… has disappeared over the past few hundred years… as human decisions… People have long since forgotten… why the world was created… and whoever doesn’t believe in it… can come and live here for a few months in a “middle class” house… and he will understand for himself… why it’s not true.
I don’t believe… that there is a religion that is wrong… just as I don’t believe there is a religion that is right… it all depends on its interpretation… and the good of the world is hidden from us… because we operate according to definitions… almost every person who sees someone different from them… usually judges them as something inexplicable… over the years of the history of our existence… we have learned a lot about this… especially about anti-Semitism… which has thrown us as a people… many times into less good times.
I think… that God’s purpose in the sentence… “By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread” was much greater than we dare to dream today… I think… that in fact, the fact that He gave such a condition… He actually said… you can rise above it… if you take everything I’ve told you so far… and interpret it all into a good point… one that gives you true freedom… one that the whole world… is no longer enemies of each other… but rather everyone does exactly what they need to do… in order for the world to develop… and when you’re done with it all… there’s no reason… that you or the generation after you… won’t get to taste the fruits… because there’s no reason anyone should continue to work… We work today because they want to control us… those people… who are made of the same energies as us… still continue to control us… instead of leading us… to a good point… where nothing will have any meaning anymore… except for the exploration of happiness and the world.
If we think about it… everything bad in the world… is a product created from the beginning of our journey through the universe… Adam and Eve were born into a world that was all good… The only rule created for them… was not to touch the forbidden trees… They could talk to animals… and they didn’t need anything… but only to enjoy what exists… what was created for all of creation.
Even today’s wars… over religion and money… were created from different beliefs… that for some unknown reason… are still believed in… 5000 years ago or more… the first killing took place… and since then until today… a conflict arose between one family… which caused the entire world to create cultures and languages, and there were even changes in skin color, etc….
I’m asking a real question… It can’t be… that as a human being… at the age of 31, I transcend God’s will… precisely because I’ve distanced myself… After all, God is perfection… and there’s no way that the world today… is the way He created it for us… I’m asking… If I can see it… how does it make sense… that people don’t put their definitions aside… all roll up their sleeves together… and instead of creating more hatred and wars and different cultures… don’t establish a perfect world… because it doesn’t matter where you come from… the main thing is that you are happy with life… there will be no more reason for any quarrel in the world… because everyone will be equal… and everyone will do something… in order to bring something more good into the world… waking up in the morning with such a feeling… will indeed do something for the population.
And not just for the population… it will give room… to sustain cultures through true love… you will have no more bad things to think about… therefore… it will create a utopian situation… that once you invent everything the world will need… everything will be perfect… and you will have more leisure… to develop and understand your culture more… because no person will actually… need to work anymore… because you have passed a stage… and now… it remains for you to create… to create your truth… for the true believing Jew… there will be the possibility of developing to another stage… to reach the secret… and for each and every one… to travel the world… to see what he needs to see before he starts a family… everyone will be able to do whatever he wants to do in order to promote goodness… and of course if it is the other way around… all we will have to do… is simply give him a good conversation… and an atmosphere of you belong here… and he will naturally move there.
Have we all lost our humanity? Is the world already lost? Because what I know… is that God doesn’t treat us as if we were his show… and if so? Then I should have committed suicide years ago… and I think each of us should have done it… or not… free will… but as far as I’m concerned… there’s no way this is a telenovela for him… otherwise there wouldn’t be efforts to advance the world through religions… It’s all in one place here… the descriptions and the depth… but I have much more than that… theories I developed about a friend, things I’ve heard throughout my life… but that’s the abbreviated breakdown.
Is there any reason to prevent us… humans… from having a perfect world?
Thanks in advance… Roy Cohen.

Hello Roy. I guess you didn’t mean for me to now go and read and listen to the entire internet step by step. I will not argue about a collection of many incorrect assumptions, some of which are unfounded, and most of which are not defined at all (in my opinion), or at most baseless hypotheses, that appear in your opening remarks. I will only address what you defined as your question (although I did not really see a question there). Your words seem similar to those of someone who proposes to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by having us all understand that it is better to live in peace and stop fighting. Does this seem like a solution proposal to you? If you have a practical way to move towards it, it would be a proposal. Otherwise, it is a statement. You suggest that we all behave well and live as we should (assuming I agree that what you described is what is needed). This is not a proposal but a utopia. Human nature is probably different, and it is not going to happen by itself. If you have a suggestion on how to move towards this, we can try and discuss it. The suggestion that we will make sure that it is good is not a proposal but a statement. If there’s something more concrete here that I missed, I’d appreciate it if you could focus on it and try to be brief and clear. All the best,

If I understood correctly, one of the points he touches on is the utopia of a completely moral world.
One of the questions is (if I understood correctly) how is it possible that the vision of such a moral world is impossible, among other things, because of religions that command to kill and differentiate - how is it possible that this human vision that advocates absolute morality is more moral than the vision of God, that as long as His teachings exist, the concept of killing and differentiation will continue to exist?

I don't know if that was the intention, but it's not a problem at all. The way to get to a peaceful world is by punishing those who interfere with it. To the extent that you can, why put criminals in prison instead of doing good to everyone and creating a whole world?
Our sages have already said: He who wants peace should prepare for war.
