Faith and its meaning

Hello Rabbi, I heard your lessons on the subject of faith, and I have a question regarding the claim that humans, as complex creatures, can believe in something completely on a conscious level, while subconsciously it is clear to them that it is not true.
If I understood you correctly, this essentially means that in right-left discussions, hostages-starvation-Gaza occupation, we don’t really have the ability to convince each other, unless the person we’re talking to already truly believes deep down that the other’s position is correct?
This is reminiscent of the stories of the ‘leftists who sobered up’ in 7.10, who say that in one moment their worldview fell apart and they ‘understood what reality really was.’ Maybe deep down they were really right-wingers?

It’s much more complex. Persuasion through a logical argument that leads to a conclusion that differs from your stated position means that the conclusion was already in your subconscious mind. But rhetoric can also change basic assumptions.
