Finding leaven in the synagogue
If I found leaven on Chol HaMoed and there is a large loss in burning it, what can I do? Let’s say it’s a large quantity of granola that my father made (which I didn’t find before Passover) and it’s secular, so it would cause a very big fight if I came and burned it.

Regardless of the loss, whether large or small, if there is an obligation to destroy it, it must be destroyed. It is not possible to sell chametz or discard it on Passover itself, so if you find it, it must be destroyed (by burning or in any other way).
But if the chametz is not yours and is not in your possession (but in your father’s house), you are not obligated to destroy it. If this is the case, leave it there and mark it so that you will not eat it on Passover. Remember that even after Passover, it is the chametz that has been passed over by Passover that is forbidden to eat.

By the way, if he sold chametz to his father (a person who is not in his presence), it could be considered valid, right?
Why not in his presence? I understand that he lives there with him. If his father is not interested in the sale, it won't help that he thinks it's his right.
