Food in the market is not acceptable for testimony.
Peace and blessings, it is written in the Gemara Kiddushin 40b, “What is eaten in the market is like a dog, and some say it is invalid for testimony. Rav Idi bar Avin said, “The halakhah is as they say.” I have a few questions on this subject:
A. What does the Gemara mean when it says the food in the market? I have seen some who interpret this to mean eating on the road. Is this a plausible interpretation?
on. In our time, when there is nothing obscene about eating like this, is this a reason to permit it?
third. Does the fact that something is disallowed for testimony necessarily mean that it is forbidden in itself?
D. What is the use of invalidating testimony in our time? Is there a way to cancel invalidating testimony?
thanks.

Thank you, can the rabbi refer me to sources that say this does not belong in our time?
There are opinions that it is a market where most people go.
Another opinion, Michela: It is only said about the T.H.
And even more: an opinion that holds that the invalid one is talking about a real thief. Who steals food in the market.
*Notes: I say this from memory. It is worth checking again
