Force him until he says, “I want to be an atheist.”
The rabbi said in his class that the reason he is forced until he says, “I want it, it’s a valid divorce,” is because the person truly wants to observe the halacha, but his instincts or anger at the woman cause him to invent theories as to why he shouldn’t do the right thing. And when he is forced, his inner desire is actually being fulfilled. The rabbi also emphasized that it seems that for this reason, it will not be understood by an atheist that he does not believe in God and halacha, and therefore it will not help to force him because it will not reveal his true desire to observe the halacha, because there has never been such a desire.
In my opinion, it can be said that even in an atheist, coercion will prevail and the divorce will be kosher because, although he does not believe in Halacha, he does believe in being a good person and not harming others, and that is how he always behaves. In this case, however, his instinct prevents him from fulfilling his true desire, which is not to harm others and to be a good person. And when they force him, they actually fulfill this true desire, just like in a religious person who is forced to.
What is certain is that in the case of a person who always cares only about himself and not about others, even if they are harmed, the get will not apply to such a person, but on the other hand, this greatly reduces the cases in which the get will not apply compared to the Rabbi’s approach.

As you know, an atheist usually wants to be a good person. And only those few who care only about themselves.
Simply say in the same way and with the same logic – the true desire of the atheist's soul is to fulfill the Creator's commandments and only the desire is the obstacle. (As it is known that bribery blinds and greed – these are the desires of the world) and therefore if the atheist says “I want” he is actually expressing the true desire of his soul. (What's more, at least regarding the mitzvot of marriage in all its aspects (Kiddushin, divorce, Yevom and Chlitza), he certainly expressed his desire in marriage to live “according to the law of Moses and Israel” and things in the heart are not things)
And (perhaps) in those wicked atheists who do not repent even at the entrance to hell. (But only those who will be there with them will be able to know this)
And maybe the Jew's desire to be a Christian but only his evil instinct leads him to become a Jew? And in fact, by forcing him to convert to Christianity, you are fulfilling his inner desire. And there are even biblical sources (according to Christians) for this, in that the Jews always persecuted the prophets and always sought to rebel against God. Or their true desire is to be Muslims but because of their instinct they distorted the Quran and invented the Bible. Or maybe their true aspiration is to unite with the true infinite God, but the Diomarg leads them astray after matter and the lust of the flesh so that they do not understand that they do not belong here and continue to maintain the material world. Anything can be justified with this argument.
