Free choice according to the law
Hello, Your Honor,
I read the articles on free choice and I didn’t understand why people have a problem with the course of God’s work. They claim that if they say that God does not know the future – this undermines His knowledge. But we can say that this is not a problem at all, because in fact there is no such thing as “future”. The future is not an existing entity but rather dynamic, and it changes at every moment according to the free choices of man. What exists is only a potential future, that is, a possible course that stems from the current situation. God knows all potentials, but there is no “absolute future” that needs to be known – just as there is no disadvantage in saying that God cannot create a “round triangle”, because there is no concept of that in reality. Thank you.
I have explained in detail my opinion, which is the same as yours. Do you want me to explain the difficulties I myself have raised? Ask someone who thinks so.
I read this a long time ago and don't remember seeing that point. I just wanted to know if the rabbi agrees with it or if I'm missing something.
The wording is not entirely accurate, but the intention is correct.
