Free choice, to what extent?

שו”תFree choice, to what extent?
asked 8 years ago

Recently I had the opportunity to read several articles by sane scientists on the subject of free choice, which comes from the fact that today neuroscience proves that everything is predictable and theoretically predictable.
The truth is that it’s not accurate, they claim that almost everything is predictable. That is to say, there is free choice, but it is very limited, it is almost not exciting.
What it turns out is that on a conceptual level there is free choice. But on a practical level it is hardly ever expressed. Does the Rabbi agree with this?

I don’t know how much choice we have, but I guess it varies from person to person.
