Freedom as a value
peace!
(I’m sending again, maybe you didn’t see the question).
Did you watch the latest episode of the series “Kingdoms of Meta”?

At minute 30:05 (and before that, at 28:54), the speaker argues for the viability of the Haredi model, because although there is no freedom there, there is happiness there.
The argument was pungent to me, because as I understood from your previous comments, freedom is a moral value, and not just a mechanism for satisfying needs.
Could you clarify the point, or point me to where you expanded the scope (or correct me if I’m wrong)?
On another note, I’m trying to purchase the trilogy through the website, and I’m not successful (maybe because of the filtering?). I get:
I try again and again, and I can’t, I get: unexpected token in JESON at position.
Is there a way to make the purchase in another way, say in cash or by bank transfer?
What needs to be expanded? You described it correctly. See the series of columns on freedom and liberty (126 onwards).
Regarding purchasing the trilogy, call my wife Daphna 052-3322444 and she will help you.
Perhaps it is worth considering priorities between values. If happiness is also a value, which value is better: happiness or freedom?
Erich Fromm argued in his book “Escape from Freedom” that man (and in fact the direction of modern society) flees from the freedom that has been imposed on him and therefore seeks with all his might how to get rid of this burden in order to gain happiness. To achieve escape from freedom, he seeks dictators, powerful religious figures and institutions that will control him and not allow him to think and take responsibility for his life.
The question: Is freedom better than happiness?
Happiness is not a value but a necessity.
