From where is your soul?

I once heard that the meaning of your soul is a question whose answer changes thinking from binary to spectrum thinking.
Can you explain this to me or correct it? And if possible, give an example?

I don’t know exactly what you mean, but dilemma arguments usually assume a dichotomy. For example: There’s no point in taking exams because the diligent learn without them and the lazy won’t learn with them. The mistake here is the dichotomous assumption that the world is divided into pathologically lazy and pathologically diligent. But there is a continuum of levels of diligence, for some intermediate types, exams can be useful (make them learn). More generally, look here on the site for my words about the stacking paradox. This is another angle on the problematic nature of dichotomous thinking.
