Funding religious services
Hello Rabbi
Do you think the state should fund religious services (synagogues, kosher, etc.) or should it be done with private money?
This is a difficult question. I would be happy if you didn’t do this, but if so, there is injustice in the opposite direction, since it funds culture and sports and other needs such as DAR, and why would the share of religious and ultra-Orthodox people be reduced? So either culture and religion are separated from the state or not.
It is true that what the state finances should be used by the entire public and not according to the criteria of one sector. For example, the Western Wall plaza (for Reformers and tefillin for women, etc.), use of mikvahs (baptism of single women), and more.
