Gambling and Interference in Halacha
In the Rabbi’s opinion, is it permissible to bet money with friends whom I trust, or is there a problem with this being a matter of narrow-mindedness and not a matter of buying? I ask because I was told by another Rabbi that there is indeed such a problem with the betting of friends, and I don’t understand why there is such a problem here, since we are talking about people who trust each other.
Also, is it permissible to play poker for money? Here it is not a bet on what will happen, but a kind of game of chance and a little thinking. Is there a difference here?
