Gary Yourofsky
peace. I would be interested to know what the Rabbi thinks about Gary Yourofsky? He comes back here and repeatedly compares the value of humans to the value of animals – is this acceptable to the Rabbi? And if not – why?
I didn’t listen, but I’m generally familiar with his views. He’s one of those who exaggerates, and that’s what Rabbi Kook feared. His words shoot his own goals in the foot. In order to improve the treatment of animals, he erases the differences between them and humans. That’s simplistic and foolish in my opinion. There’s no need to erase this difference in order to argue in favor of a moral treatment of animals.
