God and self-image

Hello Rabbi, I have a question that is bothering me a bit and I would be happy if you could answer it.
In several places in the Torah, God wants to do something and then Moses motivates him by saying what the Gentiles will say. Why does God care what people say about Him? And even if He does care, why does it change His decisions?
thanks.

If He didn’t care, He wouldn’t have created the world, nor would He have commanded the blasphemy of God. Beyond that, part of the motivation for his actions is to increase his name in the world. So if it doesn’t increase his name, that’s a reason not to do it.
