God’s changing policy regarding intervention in the world

שו”תCategory: faithGod’s changing policy regarding intervention in the world

The rabbi said that it is logical to conclude that God changed His policy regarding hidden miracles because it is clear to us that He changed His policy regarding overt miracles (there are no overt miracles today, unlike in the past) and therefore there are no problems from the Bible regarding the notion that God does not intervene in any way because He simply changed a policy from the policy in the Bible. My question is that there is a difference in the Bible between the description of the policy in visible miracles and hidden miracles. In the Shema, it is explicitly described that if we worship God, it will rain and there will be abundance (a hidden miracle), while descriptions of visible miracles are not accompanied by any condition of our behavior. Therefore, it may not be correct to conclude that because God no longer performs visible miracles, then He also does not perform hidden miracles. We see that there is a difference in the wording between the types of miracles. It is also logical to think that God intervenes less in the world in visible miracles because we are like a child who grows up and matures and no longer needs this assistance. But a hidden miracle like the one described in the Shema is simply a way of God’s action in the world forever (or until proven otherwise). And evidence of this, as I said, is that the Torah explicitly lists the policy of God in a hidden miracle and does not explicitly list the policy of God in a visible miracle, and it is impossible to infer a change in one policy with respect to the other.

I did not conclude from one thing to the other. In my opinion, there are no hidden miracles from observing the world. It operates in the way of nature. I brought the change in visible miracles as support for the thesis of policy change.

So my question is about the thesis of changing the policy, in the recitation of the Shema it is explicitly written opposite to the policy that the Rabbi thinks Hashem is operating in today, the Rabbi replies that just as Hashem changed policy in an overt miracle, it is not unreasonable that He also changed policy in a hidden miracle. My argument is that there is a difference in the wording between Hashem's policy in a hidden miracle (if we behave well, it will rain) and the policy in a visible miracle. There is no description of a consistent way of working of Hashem in overt miracles, and therefore the fact that Hashem changed policy in a visible miracle does not support the thesis that Hashem changed policy in a hidden miracle, and the difficulties from the Bible regarding describing the way Hashem operates in the world in hidden miracles still remain.

Supportive even though there is some. And the fact is before us.
That's it, I've exhausted it.
