What is meant when we say ‘the closeness of God’?
Is it like love?

This can have several meanings. Generally, it is a metaphor that describes the “distance” between you and God. But this non-geographic “closeness” can express love, devotion, strictness in the commandments, intensity of the relationship, and so on.

Is it an emotion? Is it something objective?
As I wrote, this has many meanings for different people and writers. Some probably intend to evoke emotion.
