Halacha and Body Freezing (Cranionics): Questions about mourning and mourning customs after a temporary death

Hello, Your Honor,
My father, who is secular, expressed a desire to undergo a cryonics procedure with the thought that in the future, when science allows it, he will be able to return to life. I would like to ask whether, from a halachic perspective, it is required to sit for him in a shiva, say Kaddish, observe mourning customs, or set a Yurtzeit date?
I would be happy to hear your Honor’s opinion on the matter and receive clarifications.

Hello. In my opinion, from the time it was placed in the freezer, you can sit for shiva. The rule is that from the time your mind is distracted from dealing with the burial, you are obligated to sit for shiva. This is explained in the Shulchan Shulchan Sahib, 3rd hour, 2nd-6th, and Good news.
