Harm to the state within the framework of the law
Is it morally permissible to harm the state within the framework of the law? For example, as they threatened in a protest against the reform to take all funds out of Israel? In other words, if there is a goal that is important to me, does that give me the moral right to significantly harm the state’s economy within the framework of the law?
Why not? You have the right to spend your money wherever you want, even without a reason. There is no moral problem with that in my opinion. And certainly not if you do it as a protest or demonstration for a just cause.
By the way, most of the people I knew did it out of genuine fear for their money and not as a protest. Furthermore, even those who did it not out of fear for their money did so because they believed that these funds were being used corruptly to benefit certain sectors (like the Haredim). Should he be a sucker and continue to donate his money to a government that exploits him? This is literally turning the other cheek.
