A Gentile who already has sons and later converts, does he fulfill the mitzvah of the first time or must he fulfill it again?
After all, when his children were born to him, he was not able to fulfill the mitzvah, but nevertheless now in reality he already has children in the world.

This is a dispute between the Rabbis and the Rabbis in Yevamot Sab A.

And it is impossible not to mention the discussion in “The Path of the Mitzvot” and in Genesis about the commandment of action or consequence, which is a discussion that somewhat overlaps with the question of EA (whether a mitzvah can be fulfilled or not).

There is room for tying, but not for both sides. Even if it is a mitzvah of consequence, it is still possible that his sons, as gentiles who are not attributed after him, will not take him out of the mitzvah.
