Henri Bergson

His Honor’s position on the French ‘philosophers’, etc., etc. is well known.
I wanted to ask: What do you think of Henri Bergson? I’ve read some of his writings and it seems that he is actually gifted with impressive writing and excellent intuitions. From what I’ve read, he’s a pretty brilliant guy.
Are you familiar with his writings? Is he one of the notorious ‘Frenchmen’ or is he an exception that does not prove the rule.

He is certainly not one of them. The French I was talking about are mainly the new Frenchmen who are confused by reason. In the past, there were quite a few Frenchmen who said things of taste. Descartes, Poincaré, and others. Although Bergson was already at the beginning of an era of confusion by reason, he managed to avoid it.
